Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following duties (other duties may be assigned as needed): 

 

Platform Engineering and Automation: 

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows clustering for containerized and Linux Servers. 

  • Ensure high standards of observability with robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems. 

 

Server Administration: 

  • Provide lifecycle support and maintenance for Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux Server (RHEL/Ubuntu/More) environments. 

  • Administer Microsoft 365 

  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity federation technologies. 

  • Implement patching strategies, hardening procedures, vulnerability scanning, and antivirus controls to ensure platform security. 

  • Enforce configuration management and compliance policies. 

  • Participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP), BCP Testing, and Audit readiness programs. 

  • Oversee system uptime, performance, and security. 

  • Manage Windows clustering. 

 

Cloud & Virtualization: 

  • Manage Azure environments (VMs, networking, security). 

  • Deploy and maintain VMware ESXi and vCenter. 

  • Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives. 

 

Storage & Infrastructure: 

  • Administer IBM and Dell SAN storage systems. 

  • Support enterprise networking with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and Meraki SD-WAN solutions. 

 

Collaboration & Operations: 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver IT projects and operational support. 

  • Define and enforce IT standards, processes, and best practices. 

  • Develop clear technical documentation, project plans, and timelines. 

 

Monitoring & Support: 

  • Monitor infrastructure for capacity, performance, and availability. 

  • Provide 24x7 support through an on-call rotation for mission-critical systems. 

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in cloud, virtualization, Linux, and security. 

 

 

Qualifications 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following: 

Experience: 

  • 5+ years in Windows/Linux systems administration. 

  • Strong expertise in Red Hat Linux. 

  • Proven experience with Azure, VMware, SQL databases, SAN storage, and Cisco networking. 

Certifications (Preferred): 

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) 

  • Linux certifications (CompTIA Linux+, LPIC-1, RHCSA) 

Skills: 

  • Scripting: Bash, PowerShell 

  • Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration. 

  • Experience with VMware, Nutanix, and Public Cloud Providers 

  • Knowledge of enterprise storage systems and backup solutions. 

  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy Management. 

  • Networking: IP routing, VPNs, firewalls, security protocols 

  • Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments 

  • Excellent communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 

 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). 

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

  • Primarily office-based with frequent computer use. 

  • Occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs). 

  • Standard office setting: occasional travel may be required.
